Tire manufacturers have long been reluctant to disclose the selling prices of tires, but recently that is changing. Bridgestone North America recently began publishing the tire manufacturer's suggested retail price on the Bridgestone and Firestone websites. Michelin promised to meet customer expectations by the end of the year to disclose the full suggested retail price of passenger and light truck tires sold in the United States. Continental North America says it is reviewing the matter, but has yet to reach a final conclusion. Michael Fluck, Bridgestone's U.S. brand marketing manager, says disclosure of tire manufacturers' suggested retail prices helps consumers choose tires.
